Presenter & Volunteer Agreement
This agreement sets out the terms and conditions under which you agree to volunteer as a presenter, contributor, or team member for Genesis Radio Birmingham (GRB), a digital radio station operated by Cre8iveMonk. By signing this agreement, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms.
1.1 You are engaged as a volunteer presenter or contributor and are not an employee, worker, or contractor of Cre8iveMonk or Genesis Radio Birmingham.
1.2 You may be asked to present shows, assist with production, manage social media, or contribute to the running of the station in other agreed capacities.
1.3 Either party may end this arrangement at any time by giving reasonable written notice.
2.1 You agree to conduct yourself professionally at all times when acting on behalf of GRB.
2.2 You must comply with all applicable broadcasting regulations including those issued by Ofcom.
2.3 You must not broadcast or share content that is defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, hateful, or obscene.
2.4 You must not make statements on behalf of GRB without prior authorisation from management.
3.1 Any email address, social media account, login credential, equipment, or other resource provided to you by GRB remains the property of GRB and must be used solely for GRB-related purposes.
3.2 GRB email accounts are provided for official station business only. You must not use GRB-issued email accounts for personal communications or any activity unrelated to your role at GRB.
3.3 You acknowledge that all communications sent from or received by GRB-issued email accounts may be monitored by GRB management for compliance, preventing misuse, protecting the reputation of GRB, and investigating any suspected breach of this agreement.
3.4 Monitoring may include review of email content, sent and received messages, login activity, and account usage. By accepting a GRB email address or other resource, you explicitly consent to this monitoring.
3.5 You must not forward GRB emails, data, contact lists, or confidential information to personal or external accounts without prior written authorisation.
4.1 During and after your time with GRB, you must keep confidential all non-public information relating to GRB operations, partners, sponsors, listener data, financial arrangements, or internal communications.
4.2 You must not share confidential information with third parties without prior written consent from GRB management.
4.3 This confidentiality obligation continues indefinitely after the end of your involvement with GRB.
5.1 You must declare to GRB management any actual or potential conflict of interest, including involvement with other radio stations or media organisations.
5.2 You must not use your position at GRB to advance your own commercial interests or those of any third party without prior written consent.
5.3 You must not approach GRB sponsors, partners, or business contacts for personal commercial purposes without prior written authorisation.
6.1 Any content you create in your capacity as a GRB presenter remains the intellectual property of GRB unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.2 You grant GRB a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, broadcast, reproduce, and distribute any content you contribute.
7.1 When posting publicly as a GRB presenter, you must make clear when expressing a personal opinion rather than speaking on behalf of the station.
7.2 You must not make statements likely to bring GRB or Cre8iveMonk into disrepute.
7.3 You must not share internal communications or non-public content about GRB without prior written approval.
8.1 Any breach of this agreement may result in immediate suspension or termination of your involvement with GRB.
8.2 In the event of a serious breach, GRB reserves the right to take appropriate legal action.
8.3 Upon leaving GRB you must immediately return all GRB equipment and credentials and cease use of all GRB accounts.
9.1 This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
9.2 If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
9.3 This agreement may be updated from time to time with notice given of material changes.
9.4 This agreement supersedes any previous arrangements between you and GRB regarding your role.
By completing and submitting this form you are electronically signing this agreement, which is legally binding under the Electronic Communications Act 2000 (UK).
A signed PDF copy will be saved by Genesis Radio Birmingham for our records.
